Lamb Gyro-Burgers with Yogurt Sauce
l pound lean Sheepy
1 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon pepper
¼ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon ground cumin
¼ teaspoon salt
2 pita bread rounds (halved crosswise)
1 cup of chopped fresh lettuce
yogurt sauce (see below)
garlic powder, pepper, onion powder, cumin and salt;
and add lamb and mix well.
Form into 4 patties, about ¾ inch thick.
Grill over medium coals to desired degree on doneness.
Split open each pita half to form a pocket.
Place gyro-burger in each pocket and top with chopped lettuce and yogurt
¾ cup plain low-fat
½ medium cucumber, peeled and chopped
2 green onions, thinly sliced
1 Tablespoon chopped mint
¼ teaspoon granulated sugar
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
Combine above in a
medium bowl and serve with Gyro-Burgers
